Reassurance scans
1. Basic
Nuchal and Anomaly scan package: This package includes the 2 standard scans which are carried out at 11-13 weeks’ and 20-22 weeks’ gestation. The main aim of these assessments is to ensure normal development for the baby including assessment of baby’s anatomy and screening for common chromosomal abnormalities (such as Downs, Edwards and Patau’s syndrome). At these visits we also assess the supporting structures of the pregnancy including the amniotic fluid, placenta and umbilical cord to also assess the chance of developing pregnancy problems such as preeclampsia (high blood pressure in the pregnancy), fetal growth restriction (slow growth velocity and small baby), placenta and vasa praevia.

Nuchal, Anomaly and 1-growth scan package: This package includes the 3 scans which are carried out at 11-13 weeks’, 20-22 weeks’ and 35-37 weeks’ gestation. In addition to the above assessments from the basic package, we offer a third trimester scan at 35-37 weeks’ gestation to assess the baby’s growth percentile and assess interval growth compared to the previous scan at 20-22 weeks’. We assess the adequacy of amniotic fluid and undertake detailed Doppler assessments (blood flow assessments in the baby’s umbilical cord and baby’s body) to allow reassurance about baby’s well-being.
3. Ideal
Nuchal, Anomaly and 3-growth scans package: This package includes the 5 scans which are carried out at 11-13 weeks’, 20-22 weeks’ and 28-29, 32-33, 35-36 weeks’ gestation. In addition to the above package, the growth scans from 28 week onwards every month until getting to term (37 weeks’ gestation) provides a serial assessment of the baby’s growth over time and in addition to assessment at a cross section in time, it allows for assessment of growth velocity longitudinally over time. At all the growth scans, we assess the adequacy of the amniotic fluid and undertake detailed Doppler assessments (blood flow assessments in the baby’s umbilical cord and baby’s body) to ensure the well-being of the pregnancy. 3D/4D scans are part of all growth scans.
